New England and New Jersey Events Raise Over $69,000

Rally for Tennis (“RFT”) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 by Alek Karagozyan, Tait Oberg, and Cole Oberg, whose mission is to help afford equal access to the sport of tennis to youth in under-resourced communities. RFT is focused on giving them a lifelong advantage, on and off the courts. This year, RFT sponsored events in New England (“NE”) and New Jersey (“NJ”) and are planning to expand to additional regions in 2023.

The second annual RFT NE event was held at the Longfellow New England Tennis Academy at Brandeis University on August 15th. The event benefited Advantage Kids, a nonprofit development organization in New Hampshire which serves at-risk youth by providing financial assistance to aspiring under-resourced tennis players and access to positive mental health practices.

In addition to the RFT NE event, the organization expanded in 2022 to hold its inaugural RFT NJ event at the West Orange Tennis Club on August 23rd. The RFT NJ event was led by Andrew Kotzen, Josh Mandelbaum, Ethan Polen and Ayanna Varma, and partnered with Greater Newark Tennis & Education to help the sport of tennis increase its accessibility among all communities and cultivate a healthy, lifelong passion with the next generation of athletes. Together these two events raised over $69,000 from over 500 donors to support local community access to tennis for those in need.
